Working on Labor Day?

I couldn't help but post today. After all it's Labor Day!

Me, not working? That'll be the day! When my husband retired I knew he'd tire of it quickly and I was right. I used to say he was "retired" and I was just "tired" now he's both and I'm more energetic than ever. Retiring, not working, isn't fun for most people even if you can retire in grandeur. I can't imagine ever retiring.

Today is labor day and as usual I'm working on a project. Why? Because that's my life! It's my pride and joy! It's my everything.

Of course God and family still rank #1 but as I used to tell my kids when they were younger, "If Mommy doesn't work you wouldn't have the extra cool things you have!" They were happy to see me leave for the office. I still found time for my family. Our time was far more quality because I had the denari to make it that way.

So to all of you who are resting on your laurels on labor day. Good for you. I'm dumb-struck with work and still loving every minute of it. Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking you for relaxing. We all relax in our own way. Some drink wine (yum) while others drink water (yummier). Either way, we're all laboring in our own ways. Have fun today. That's what it's all about!
